Message from the Director
On October 1st, 2023, Iseikai Hospital in Higashiyodogawa Ward and Joto Central Hospital in Joto Ward, both of which have been delivering acute care in Osaka City as part of the Iseikai Medical Corporation Group's network of nine hospitals, officially merged. Together, they have formed the 560-bed "Iseikai International General Hospital" (referred to as the "New Hospital"), located in Minami-Ogimachi, Kita Ward, which is now fully operational.
The management philosophy of Iseikai Medical Corporation is "to create a rich health culture and provide safe, high-quality healthcare services." Based on this philosophy, the new hospital has five "missions." That is,
- Providing high-quality standard medical care with consideration for medical safety
- Achieving early social rehabilitation through minimally invasive medical management
- Promoting personalized treatment based on genomic medicine
- Practicing efficient and effective medical care using AI and IT
- Promoting international medical exchange and contributing to regional revitalization
The new hospital includes 47 departments, featuring 12 for internal medicine, 7 for surgery, and 6 dedicated to sensory, dermatology, and motor care. Additionally, there are 5 neuropsychiatry departments, 4 focused on women’s health, maternal and child health, and urogenital issues, along with 3 radiology departments and 10 others. The goal is to establish a comprehensive medical system staffed by a total of 300 doctors. At our facility, we work on minimally invasive treatments such as catheterization, endoscopic treatment, ultrasound treatment, and robotic surgery, advanced and preemptive medical care such as cancer immunotherapy, regenerative medicine, and genomic medicine, as well as medical digital transformation using ITC and AI. We are also implementing large-scale task shifting among doctors and nurses, fostering collaboration across various professions, and centrally managing hospital operations by adopting a comprehensive control system. Our goal is to boost work efficiency and rationalize processes. Ultimately, we aspire to become an advanced general hospital recognized by international organizations.
In the near future, we will be opening the Iseikai Precision Medical Center, conveniently located just a short walk from the hospital. We aim to offer a comprehensive range of services, including preventive medicine, cosmetic treatments, regenerative therapies, infertility care, and immunotherapy. By establishing these two facilities as our foundation, we hope to enhance local healthcare and embrace the concept of "healthcare tourism." This initiative is designed to address the evolving needs of our community as we work towards ushering in a "new era of health."
Director of Iseikai International General Hospital,
Kazuo Minematsu ,M.D.
