Oncology
Introduction
Medical oncology is a medical department that is not common in Japan, but it is a specialized medical department that performs internal cancer treatment with a focus on anticancer drug treatment. We also play the role of total management of cancer treatment, coordinating with surgeons and radiation therapists when performing surgical treatment and radiotherapy, and collaborating with palliative care physicians.
Characteristics of this department
People who meet the following conditions are considered candidates for treatment at our department. Please contact our hospital for details.
- Has a histopathological diagnosis of cancer
- Your doctor has explained to you that you have cancer
- Those who can receive outpatient treatment
- The patient requests cancer drug treatment

We have conferences once a week with the respiratory medicine and respiratory surgery departments, once a week with the gastroenterology, gastroenterology surgery, and diagnostic imaging departments, once a week with chemotherapy nurses and pharmacists, and once a week with the palliative care team.
Main diseases
Chemotherapy for malignant tumors, especially solid cancers (lung cancer, gastrointestinal cancer, etc.)
Treatment
In our department, we provide standard anti-cancer drug treatments (the best treatments with established safety that can be performed under current insurance medical care) recommended by guidelines, etc.
